Section Consults

The section Consults contains the basic information needed to book and maintain consults. In this section the following buttons are available:


[Consult Place]

To schedule consults the place of the consult is important. Each consult can be connected to a consult place. This basic information contains a list of all the places where a consult could take place. Examples of consult places are Home Patient, Hospital or Hospice Office. A Consult place can be subdivided into more sub consult places. This must be done using [Sub-consult place]. Click on [Consult Place] to add new or maintain existing consult place. The opened menu contains a list part (left) with all the added consult places. And right the detail part of the selected place in the list.
Consult_place

A new consult place can be added by clicking on the line in the table marked as <<New>>. The description and Seqno (= sequence number)  have to be added in the details part of the menu. The Seqno is used for sorting the list in dropdown menus and on reports. Click on the [Save] button before adding a reduction percentage or amount. Added reduction percentages and amounts don’t need to be saved with the [Save] button.

After a consult has taken place, products and consult costs can be added to the consult. OKUFAYO-soft has various built-in functions to add these costs automatically after a consult is booked as finished or missed. The costs per consult can be set up per consult place. The user has the option to manually edit the recommended costs when the consult is closed. Per consult place, a ‘reduction’ can be added for a finished or missed consult.

In the details, the reduction can be entered or edited. The reduction for a finished consult can be edited separately from the reduction for a missed consult. The reduction can be in a percentage or an amount. If an amount is added, the percentage will be automatically filled. If a percentage is added, the amount will automatically be calculated and displayed. The [Reset] button will remove the added reduction percentage and amount.

If a amount or percentage is added, it will appear immediately below the Seqno. The menu can be closed by clicking on [Close].


[Sub-Consult Place]

Sub-consult place can be used to subdivide the consult place . Only sub-consult places can be added for existing consult places. Open the menu by clicking on [Sub-Consult place]. A list of existing sub-consult places is opened.

Click behind to word (New) to enter a description of a new  Sub-consult place. Each Sub-consult place has a ID (is added automatically) and a description entered in the column Description. Click in the column Main_consult_place. A small arrow (for a dropdown list) is displayed.  Select one of the consult places from the list. Enter a sequence number in the column Seqno. This number is used to sort the list. Delete an existing, but not used, Sub-consult place by clicking on the square in front of the line. The line will  be complete selected. Use the key <<Delete>> and the line will be deleted. Close the list with the cross in the right upper corner. If a pop-up is displayed with a question to save the changes, click on [Yes].


[Consult type]

A patient can be seen for several reasons. Beside the type of care, the type of consult can be recorded when a consult is booked. Examples of this type of consults are With patient, With LC1 or Bereavement. The list with these types can be entered in the basic information, using [Consult type]. 

Click on this button and a list with existing types is opened.

A consult type contains an ID (is added automatically), a description entered in the column Description and a sequence number. This number is used to sort the list. Delete an existing, but not used, consult type by clicking on the square in front of the line. The line will  be complete selected. Use the key <<Delete>> and the line will be deleted. Close the list with the cross in the right upper corner. If a pop-up is displayed with a question to save the changes, click on [Yes].


[Ext organizations]

Other organizations then the hospice team can be involved in the care of the patients. When consults are booked an external organization can be connected to the consult. To connect the organization to a consult a list of external organizations must be available in the program. Click on [Ext. organizations] to add new or maintain existing organizations. Each organization has a ID (is added automatically), a description and a checkbox to determine if the organization is a NGO.

Ext_organ

Click behind to word (New) to enter a description of a new organization. And tick the checkbox if applicable. Delete an existing, but not used, organization by clicking on the square in front of the line. The line will  be complete selected. Use the key <<Delete>> and the line will be deleted. Close the list with the cross in the right upper corner. If a pop-up is displayed with a question to save the changes, click on [Yes].
 


[Type of Care]

In order to determine which employee is the best person to schedule for a planned consult, a type of care can be connected to a consult. The list of care types is created in this basic information. Example of type of care are Medical Care, Psychosocial Care and Patient Case discussion. The type of care can be subdivided in sub type of care (use [ Sub-type of Care] to set up this list.

Open the list using [Type of care] in the Basic information menu. A list of all added type of care is opened.

Delete an existing, but not used, type of care by clicking on the square in front of the line. The line will  be complete selected. Use the key <<Delete>> and the line will be deleted. Close the list with the cross in the right upper corner. If a pop-up is displayed with a question to save the changes, click on [Yes].


 

[Sub Type of Care]

When OKUFAYO-soft is used to create a monthly report for the Palliative Care Association of Uganda (=PCAU) a subdivision of the type of Care is required. Medical Care must be subdivided into Pain Management,  Symptom Management and End of Live care. These 3 sub type of care must be added in the basic information Sub Type of Care.  These 3 required sub types for the PCAU report are added to the program by default.
Click on [Sub-type of care] and a list is open.
subtypeofcare
On top of the opened screen a drop down list is available to select the type of care to create the sub type for. Select the correct type of care to add the sub type for. A sub type contains a description and a short code. The description is added in the column Sub Type of care. The code in the second column. The code is used on reports as short description of the selected sub type. Add a code which is unique and only 3 characters long. 

Add a new sub type by entering the description in the empty field behind * (in above print screen the fourth line). Select another type of care in the drop down list to add sub types for that type of care. Delete an existing, but not used, type of care by clicking on the square in front of the line. The line will  be complete selected. Use the key <<Delete>> and the line will be deleted. Use [Close] to close this basic information. If a pop-up is displayed with a question to save the changes, click on [Yes].
